Peshtigo River:

Exciting Peshtigo River Rafting trips are run daily and are guaranteed to include crashing whitewater rapids, gentle stretches of river, and some the most scenic wilderness in the state of Wisconsin. The Peshtigo River allows you to enjoy its spectacular beauty and bountiful wildlife along the 5-mile river trip, which hold some the most challenging whitewater in the Midwest.

Menominee River: Water Data

The Menominee River offers class IV rapids and is a guided trip, run in six to twelve person self-bailing rafts. The Menominee River is a scenic 50 minute drive from our resort and begins at the beautiful 200' cliffs bordering Wisconsin and the U.P. Down river you will experience the famous "Piers Gorge" which we run twice. Price is $47.00 per person and includes all gear and guides.

SPRING TRIPS…. MILD TO WILD!


(Class 4 Rapids)

Our spring trips start in early April and and continue through the weekend before Memorial Day offering some of the best Class 3, 4, and 5 rapids in Wisconsin and the Midwest. No experience is needed, so be one of the first to experience the challenge of the Springtime Whitewater Rafting Adventures. These trips show you what "Rapid Transit" is all about! This time of the year offers high water, and makes these rapids the most exciting and challenging in the Midwest. Our spring trips start in early April with trips leaving daily at 9:30am and 12:30pm sharp Sunday through Friday, and 9am, 11:30am, and 2pm sharp Saturdays. Efficiency is the goal we strive for, leaving and returning on time, so there is little waiting around and you can get the most out of your vacation. The cost of our Spring Trip is $47.00.

WHAT WE SUPPLY

The cost of these guided spring trips is $47.00 and includes "Farmer John" style wetsuits, wetboots, helmets, and life jackets. We run these guided trips in four, six and eight person rafts, and provide transportation to the river and return trip to our resort. Our resort and campgrounds provide large, clean showers so you can revitalize yourself before a night of fun and entertainment at our large bar.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING

The weather is very unpredictable and the water is cold during our spring season. Our trips are run rain or shine, and to assure you of a memorable and enjoyable experience, here are some very important

SUMMER TRIPS

Our summer trips start the weekend before Memorial Day and continue through October. Helmets, life jackets, paddles and transportation to the river and return to our resort is provided. Altogether a leisurely, fun-filled experience with warmer water temperatures that is guaranteed to take all of the kinks out of hectic, stressful city living. You can leave the Peshtigo River behind, but not the memories of your fabulous river run!

FALL TRIPS

September trips can be comparable to our spring trips…The River is fast and exciting with some of the most challenging whitewater in the Midwest. Fall's colorful scenery is a breathtaking experience, and a trip down the river adds a unique way to experience this beautiful season.

WEEKEND TRIP SCHEDULES

 Thornton's Rafting Resort runs three trips per day, starting at 8:45am, 12:00pm and 3:00pm sharp on Saturdays and holidays and 9:30am and 12:30pm on Sundays. Check in time and gear pick-up is 30 minutes prior to the trip leaving. The cost of our weekend trips during the summer and fall are $27.00 per person, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays. Spring trips are $47.00 per person.

MIDWEEK RAFTING

 Thornton's Rafting Company runs its midweek trips Monday through Thursday. Come on up to Thornton's during the week when the pace is slower and there are fewer rafts on the river and our price is lower. Midweek rafting trips leave at 9:30am and 12:30pm unless pre-arranged at a cost of $26.00 per person, except Holidays.

NEW INFLATABLE KAYAKS
(FUN-YAKS)

Inflatable kayaks are the next best thing to actually kayaking. No kayaking experience is needed for these stable little boats, but be assured that these Fun Yaks provide all of the fun and action that you can get from a regular kayak! If you want a little added adventure, try one on your next trip.

SCENIC PADDLE RAFT TRIP


Leave the hectic city living behind, kick back, relax and experience a leisurely, fun filled, scenic, gentle stretch of the Peshtigo River. Enjoy four miles of spectacular beauty, see eagles and hawks soar overhead and watch wildlife along the way.
Trip is run in 4 person rafts, lasts about 3 to 3 1/2 hours and costs $18.00 per person. Coolers of beverages and food are permitted. Remember to bring your camera. Shuttle, life vests and helmets (if desired) are provided and included in the price.
Minimum of eight people for this scenic trip. Trips are offered at 10:30am or 1pm on Saturdays and special trips can be arranged.

Special group rates are available, and with a group of 20 or more, the organizer goes free! Scout, church and youth groups receive a 12% discount.

On request we will videotape your ride. Take something to home to show your friends when your ride is over and continue to remember your whitewater rafting experience at Thornton's Resort. A copy of your DVD will be provided at a minimal charge.

Please be aware that trips do fill up several months in advance and it is suggested that you reserve your preferred dates as early as possible.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

Cancellation notice received four weeks prior to the trip will result in a full refund. Notices received less than four weeks prior DO NOT qualify for a refund. Full refunds will be provided for fees paid only, should Thornton's Rafting Company cancel a trip due to unforeseen circumstances.
